Q & A's:

What do you do at Lifeforce Glass?
I am the visionary, I also do some janitorial work. The most satisfying and effective thing I do is try to empower the staff. We all work together on product development, production, marketing and procedures. I am mostly responsible for the quarterly newsletters, something I really enjoy. I also pay bills.

How long have you worked at Lifeforce Glass?
Since Oct. 27, 1990, its inception.

What's your favorite Lifeforce Glass product?
I always love the newest thing, but I think my affection for the Sea Beans is well justified. It solves a lot of the environmental, ethical and production dilemmas I wrestle with. I would love to see the popularity of Sea Beans overcome that of River Rocks. The Dreams Come True Action Kit was created from my personal story, so that's my second favorite.

Do you think it's important to buy American-made? If so, why?
If a product from another country is clearly superior, and you don't suspect that anyone (or the environment) was exploited in its production, you should buy that product. Otherwise, we should not be seduced by cheap prices, and should buy American when we have a choice. Lifeforce Glass gift items should always be everyone's first consideration.

Who would play you in your made-for-TV biography? Which cable network would it play on?

If money were not an object, what kind of car would you drive?
An Aptera. If you haven't seen the video of it, it looks like an airplane going down the road. It is completely electric and has solar panels in the roof. Go to www.aptera.com

What are you reading right now?
"Passage" by Carol Willis, but mostly I read Canadian women authors Carol Shields, Alice Munro, and Margaret Atwood.

If you could fight any celebrity, who would you fight?
For heaven's sake, Andrew, why would you ask such a question?

What's your favorite gadget?
The apple peeler - you stick the apple on it, turn the crank and the apple is peeled and cored. Amazing.

If you were a digestive organ, which organ would you be?

Do you do any volunteer work?
I serve on the Religious Services committee at my church. I brim with good intentions.

What (if anything) do you enjoy outside of Lifeforce?
Restoring my 1920 Colonial Revival house, loving my dogs, reading, knitting, gardening, meditation, walking all over Kingsport and especially creating feasts from the bounty of our farmers' market.
